# Hippius

> Hippius is a distributed cloud: encrypted file storage (Drive), S3-compatible object storage, and a registry for AI models and containers (Hub). One account pays for all of them. This file says what each product is and which file to open next.

- One account covers the console, the desktop app, and the mobile app. Sign-in is Google, GitHub, Apple, or an existing 12-word access key. There is no email and password sign-in.
- An agent cannot create the account or sign in. That happens in the user's browser or app.
- A 12-word access key creates a wallet-only account. It has no real email address, so it gets no lifecycle mail. Drive has no free plan: subscribe before the first upload. S3 and Hub work the same as on any other account.
- S3 endpoint is https://s3.hippius.com only. Keys (the access key id starts with `hip_`) are created on the console S3 page: https://docs.hippius.com/use/console/s3
- The API token for Hub and the account API is on console Settings: https://console.hippius.com/dashboard/settings
- Hub has a second credential, the registry robot login, created when the namespace is provisioned.
- Drive encryption uses an unlock password and a 12-word recovery seed. Never ask the user to paste either into chat.
- The balance is in credits (1 credit = 1 USD). Topping up fills the balance. It does not add storage. Subscribe to a plan for that. https://docs.hippius.com/use/console/billing
- Top up on Billing in one of four ways. Card, through Stripe, from $10 to $10,000, or a monthly auto reload. Bitcoin, on-chain or Lightning, from $20 to $10,000. Lightning is credited in seconds; on-chain after one confirmation. USDC on Base from a browser wallet, from $5 to $10,000, one USDC to one credit. TAO, from a connected wallet or by sending to the deposit address, minimum $20, and a transfer cannot be reversed.
- Subscribe from that product's plans page. A card payment lands on the balance and the plan is paid from it. A plan can also be paid from the balance already there. Hub plans are paid from the balance only. Google, GitHub, and Apple accounts include the Free Drive Plan (10 GB). S3 starts on pay as you go at $6 per TB per month, and a plan is optional.
- Open a support ticket with the account API token: POST https://api.hippius.com/api/support/tickets/ with subject, priority, category, and description.

Hub Free plan: creating a namespace requires at least 10 credits on the account (`REGISTRY_MIN_CREDITS`, a spam check). A zero balance is refused. The plan price stays zero. Top up, then provision. https://docs.hippius.com/use/console/hub

## Deprecated

`hipc`, `hippius-cli`, `homebrew-tap`, `hippius-sdk`, `hippius-sdk-ts`, `hippius-sdk-rust`, `hippius-rust-sdk`, `hippius-sync-engine`, `hippius-storage-miner`, and anything else IPFS-related, are deprecated. Hippius switched from IPFS to Arion. https://docs.hippius.com/cli/usage
